Recall scope calculator
Paste the production quantity per lot and the distribution rows (lot, recipient, quantity, date); enter the affected lots. See how many units are affected, how many each customer or warehouse received, what is left in stock and an estimate of what may still be in the field; take the customer notification list as CSV.
One row each: lot; quantity. The separator can be tab, semicolon or comma; a header row is skipped. If a lot appears in several rows, quantities are added.
One row each: lot; customer or warehouse; quantity; date. The date is optional (YYYY-MM-DD or DD.MM.YYYY).
One row each: lot; first serial; last serial (digits only). Ranges are checked for overlap, reversal and agreement with the production quantity.
Separate by comma, space or new line. You can also pick from the list below.
Lots in the list (click to select)
No lots yet.
The calculation runs in your browser; the list you paste is not sent anywhere.
This is a helper calculation. The recall decision, its scope, notification obligations and time limits are set in your quality system and under the applicable regulations; the result is neither legal nor regulatory advice and makes no compliance claim.
Let's build a structure that keeps lot, product and recipient records traceable together with your serialisation data.

How to use it
A
Paste the production quantity per lot and the distribution rows; add serial number ranges if you have them.
B
Type the affected lots or pick them from the list; enter the share you think may already be consumed in the field.
C
Read the affected quantity, the split by recipient and the data checks; download the notification list as CSV.
02
Why a fast scope matters
When a lot is found to be faulty the first questions are always the same: how many units are affected, where, and with whom? When lot records and distribution records sit in separate tables, answering can take hours. The tool matches the two lists by lot code and gives the first table within minutes.
The result is a starting scope; the real scope is set by your quality system, product knowledge and the applicable regulations.
03
Notification list by recipient
For each recipient the total quantity, how much came from which lots, the first and last shipment date and the estimated quantity left in the field are collected in one table. The CSV can be used directly for notification letters or a customer service list.
Recipients that received more than one affected lot are flagged separately so that you can send one consolidated notice to the same recipient.
04
Serial number range check
If you give serial number ranges the tool checks whether ranges are written reversed, whether they overlap with each other, and whether the total per lot matches the production quantity. An overlapping range suggests the same number may have been given to two lots.
These checks only look at the internal consistency of the lists you provide; they do not show whether the numbers were really produced or used in another system.
FAQ
- Does the tool slow down with large lists?
- The calculation uses tables keyed by lot code and grows linearly with the number of rows; hundreds of thousands of rows work in the browser. For very large lists the page shows only the first 200 recipients on screen; the CSV contains all of them.
- How should I write the affected lots?
- Write the lot codes separated by comma, space or new line; the codes must match the lists. You can also click to pick from the list. A warning is shown for a code found in no list.
- What is the estimated consumed share for?
- It is your estimate of how much of the distributed quantity may already have been used up in the field. The remaining quantity gives an indicative idea for prioritising notification and planning the quantity to retrieve; it is not actual data.
- What happens if the distributed quantity exceeds the produced quantity?
- The tool still calculates but warns in the data checks, as this usually means a typo, a duplicate record or a missing production row. Stock left shows as negative.
- Does this tool carry out a recall or meet a legal requirement?
- No. It only makes a quantity calculation from the lists you give it. The recall decision, its scope and the notices are carried out in your quality system and under the applicable regulations.
